slack

yes I know I am slack, but in my defence, I have been very sleepy. I never said it was a good defence, but at least I attempted one. Anyway, intern training has begun, and the people shafting me and ruining my life have changed. It is now the hospital. Now in all honesty, I don't think it was malicious, just careless. I have annual leave first up. That's right, I start with holidays. This means no holidays the rest of the year. It also means no money for holidays. It also means no Matt for holidays. It also means no Japan with Matt - he will go without me. It apparantly also means, I get Urology. Urology. Can you imagine anything more dull and uninspiring the problems with peeing? I cannot. I don't want to do it. I especially don't want to do it at QEII as it sounds like the intern there has to work very very hard, and does much overtime. I imagine that as i will be twice as slow (having not done a whole year of interning already) that I will be working a lot harder. In fact I don't envision seeing home during that time.

I shall end the whinging now.

I did at least get psychiatry, which I'm hoping will be a nice term. I don't know which hospital I will be at for that yet.... Redlands is a long way away but at least it is nice out there... Who knows what will happen.

I got home safely from London and for some reason am having lots of trouble recovering from jetlag. I imagine that is because somebody keeps getting me out of bed so early - early morning is not a time my body understands, but somebody has taken advantage of the fact that when I got back it didn't think it was early morning, it thought it was 8pm and tricked me into getting out of bed. Matt.

It is nice to be home, especially since while I was away a lovely fairy came and cleaned my house Yay to KJ:) Plus I suppose I did miss people. Although I'm still missing most of them as we haven't really caught up yet.

Not a lot has happened. i'm bored of this. I will write more when I feel a little more inspired.

doctor?

What were they thinking? That crazy med school went and passed me! It made me feel happy though, as here in London I'm working pretty steadily on my credit card bill so having a job next year will be good.

This week I managed to slot in a few things around uni. Matt and I went to the Tower of London for half a day, another day we went to westminster parliament house for half a day. On the sunday he arrived we wandered around harrods, saw buckingham palace and st james palace from the outside. Went to hyde park and St James park - had a hot coffee in the park and looked at the cute ducks. Another day we headed to Kew Gardens which was quite cool, unfortunately covered in budding art students sitting down sketching and painting - one of whom spilled their paint water a little bit on matthew. Today (saturday) we went to the markets and spent some money there - a little forte of mine.

We then went and picked up our hire car. Had a little adventure getting there as the directions we had been given to get there were wrong in how long it would take (Which resulted in jogging a little which isn't so much my thing) and also terminated abruptly at a pub which wasn't within sight of our location... Luckily there was a very friendly barman who could tell us how to get the rest of the way. Matt then had the adventure of getting back to where we are staying with me directing. Which would be easier if there was any indication on the map of where there are sets of lights, where the streets are one way etc. We also had to put fuel in the car - scarily expensive! We will not be doing excess driving beyond our "planned" tour.

Our "planned" tour is thus:
tomorrow morning wake up early (whatever) and head out to salisbury - wander around muttering it's pretty. We shall then see stonehenge - mutter that it's ancient. From there we go to bath. Then we'll head to Wales and have dinner with John and Helen and stay with them for the night. In the morning back across to brighton (or however you spell it) and then to the cheddar caves. Drive through the cotswalds (again - however you spell it) muttering it's cute and go to Oxford. Look around for the afternoon, stay the night (wonder if I should have booked something?), look around again in the morning. Go to blenheim palace (which will be shut but will look pretty from the outside and we can still go into the gardens which is cheaper admission anyway). Then maybe stay out somewhere overnight (Not sure yet), do windsor castle on our way back into london and return car.

Who knows what will really happen, but it is our hope that it goes something like that.

Well, I think I told matt I would make garlic bread if he did the shopping and I suspect he'll be back any minute, so perhaps I will do that.
