Rain falls like the teardrops I don't have
Too many used on lost causes
You don't believe in lost causes
Can't understand my giving up
But continuing feels fraudulant
Like I'm making them a fool
If I pretend I can be their friend

When the steam rises from the earth
And heaven has lost it's outlet
Perhaps then it will turn it's head
To enact the change in me
That I don't have the strength to
And I will be able to be it
Without lying and pretending
