Everybody, somebody, nobody and anybody

Isn't it funny what can act as a trigger? Somebody said something to me recently and it reminded me of this thing that mum used to have on our fridge when I was like 8 (or sometime around then because it was when we lived in Townsville), so I went and looked it up on the internet. Here is how it goes:

Everybody, Somebody, Nobody and Anybody
Once upon a time, there were four people; their names were Everybody, Somebody, Nobody and Anybody. Whenever there was an important job to be done, Everybody was sure that somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. When Nobody did it, Everybody got angry because it was Everybody’s job.

Everybody thought that Somebody would do it, but Nobody realized that Nobody would do it. So consequently Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done in the first place.

Don't try to hard to fill nobody's place though - it can backfire - somebody can still not like it.
